- Contrast between subject and background. Auto removal works by finding the subject, so a dark jacket against a dark wall is genuinely hard for it. A step to the side is often the entire fix.
- Avoid heavy motion blur. Fast movement smears the subject boundary across pixels that are part subject, part background. Neither auto removal nor chroma key can cleanly resolve those.
